  • Day 1

    Welcome and informative talk

    The meeting point in Manizales will be coordinated at 5:00 a.m., where we will have an informative talk with our host to learn all the general recommendations for our experience.

    Transfer in 4WD to the park

    Otún Lake

    Acclimatization trek to Otún Lake, an ecosystem of páramo and high mountains, perfect for connecting with nature and preparing for the ascent.

    Lunch

    Organization and preparation

    We will have a session where we will conduct a preparation and safety talk for the ascent of the mountain, and handling of ice equipment.

    Warm up

    From early on, we will get ready and do a warm-up to prepare for the ascent to the Nevado.

    Breakfast

    We will have breakfast at 2:00 am to start the adventure

    4WD Transfer

    Ascent to summit

    We will start the hike on the trail where you will have a panoramic view of the National Park and its other snow-capped peaks.

    Nevado Santa Isabel Summit

    We will ascend to the summit at almost 5,000 meters above sea level, where the view and the challenge of having reached it will be the best reward.

By air to Manizales (Approx.1h flight from Bogotá)

By air to Pereira (Approx.1h flight from Bogotá) and then take transportation to Manizales

Land route to Manizales (Approx. 7h from Bogotá)

We recommend that you arrive on day 0, meaning the day before starting the trip.

We recommend scheduling your return flight after 7 pm.
